I have never seen Kushy Kush before. Is this a new product that hasnt made it over to the states yet? Also, Is Bud Candy going to replace carbo load completly and at what should it be used in moderatly heavy feeding with the 2+ program if you are still using carbo load? Thanks for the years of quality products.

I think you need to expand on the study just a little more. I’m curious how the plants you sent for analysis were grown (how do you know that plants you sent for analysis had the optimal levels of N-P-K and micro-nutrients)?
(My first thought was ‘well if you grow the plants with your own fertilizers then of course they are going to have the same nutrient levels as your products give… but that can’t be right.)

How did you ensure that your plant samples had the optimal levels of nutrients?

Thanks and keep up the good work.

  9. Tonyton July 8, 2009 at 10:21 am #

I have been using advanced nutrients for about five years and each and every time I grow I get fanominal results. I am a organic grower so when the all organic regiment can out I hoped on it. The results were outstanding. To learn about this is truly a blessing. thanks for the knowlege big Mike. keep doing what your doing, and thats telling the truth.

yes, i’m not finding the prices for budfactor x and the system bundles. i am guessing about $400 for the one that includes bud factor x

GREETINGS BIG MIKE, KEEP UP THE STRAIGHT TALK & FACTS. POINT OUT THE BULLSHIT THANX

  13. csu July 9, 2009 at 6:45 am #

good report, ive never seen such a complete analysis of micro and marco nutrients. id really like to see 3 independent reports, and compare results for accuracy.

the fact that they analyzed 3 or 4 different strains, with relatively similar results for NPK, does validate their results to some extent.

im wondering how complicated the testing procedures are, especially when they talk about thc, cbd and cbn percentages.

  14. Mauve Farmer July 9, 2009 at 12:32 pm #

Yo Big Mike! love your products!! but there’s alot of sh-t talking going around about your kushie kush nutrient, You should show everyone a tissue sample of the intake of the N_P_K to shut these people up! i’ve had your back but i think they need to hear it from the big guy!! let them have big mike!

    keep the goods coming!!

  16. knowboddy July 9, 2009 at 8:27 pm #

    I knew it!

I’ve been saying it all along but no, people wanna believe whatever gives them the best excuse to hate whomever it’s most popular to hate. Like the jacka$$es hating on Starbucks because they’re big and successful but they don’t take any time to see how much charity and human rights work the big mean S-bux does.

I keep tellin’ ’em that Advanced Nutrients is doing more research than any other three nute companies combined but they just gotta hate! Losers.

Awesome work proving them wrong Big Mike!

BTW, you might want to put up some clarified rules for your Million Dollar Challenge. The retards out there are getting it all wrong. (They’re not really paying attention to anything you say anyway, they’re just looking for ways to twist your words.)

  17. jackhammer July 11, 2009 at 11:00 am #

    Big Mike,
GOOD JOB !!! backing up what you say with research and docs to back it up.
Statistics are thrown about like confetti but few back it up with hard copies of stats.
I’m now a true fan and user of Advanced Nutes.
    Keep up the research!!!

I was looking everywhere for the Growers Series from Erik that he talked about in the MP3 File that I was able to download. He said that if you go to the http://www.hydroponicssecrets.tv there will be a list of downloadable to MP3 files and I can’t find it. Can you help me? Also I have been looking everywhere to find the AN Series that you guys are advertising. I can’t seem to find the combo packs that your adds are talking about. It’s also not on the regular AN site to find a plce to buy your packages. Could you help me find a outlet that I can buy these packages from to start using the full line? Thanks/

not disagreeing just feel like a couple things need to be stated, the gas chromatography tests of tissue samples would show what’s IN the tissue NOT what the tissue is USING, just because there’s lots of N in the tissue doesn’t mean it needs lots of N, in fact the inverse could be possibly, maybe the plant isn’t using that much N so it’s building up in the tissue due to lack of use and maybe the low levels of phosphorus only means the plants are using the phosphorus, a key role of phosphorus is in root development so maybe the levels are higher is the root zone, did you take tissue samples of the root zone? or just buds and foliage

  20. Chemo July 13, 2009 at 11:43 am #

Good info Big Mike. Can you send me that info that you talked about in the “No more PPM, PH measurments video”
I posted a comment on that vid but have yet to get that info you promised.

    Thanks again for those studies.

  21. nativeking July 14, 2009 at 5:44 am #

i’ve posted a comment on your big fat bad ass buds video and havent got the formula
thanx for making advanced nutrients your product is ace dont forget to send me the formula

  22. andrew July 14, 2009 at 1:51 pm #

Maybe the phosphorus was low because the plant uses up the phosphorus quickly!?!

Maybe the plant tissue samples aren’t representative of the correct proportions that the plant actually needs!?!

If the plant needs that little phosphorus, why did you recently change the formula of Big Bud from 0-1-4 to 0-2-4, where the former seems to better reflect your nice graph?

It would be nice if someone that maybe understands the study a little better (maybe with a background in science… Eric) could explain it more thoroughly. As it stands not enough info is provided to understand the study… (although that evidently won’t stop some people from being amazed at the first sight of a bar chart). I’m not a ‘hater’ and I do use AN products but I’m not impressed by this study until it’s explained properly.

  23. andrew July 22, 2009 at 12:14 pm #

Thanks Erik… always helpful… that is a clear explanation of why other fertilizer companies put excess Phosphorous in their products…

Could Erik also be able to comment on the study laid out here by Big Mike?
Specifically, how did this study determine the optimal level of nutrients for a MJ plant?

    Isn’t bloom booster pro a 0-50-30 product?

Umm, yea, right. Your phosphorous myth is BS. Your testing methodology was absolutely flawed, and quite unscientific. Your marketing is weak at best. You say you don’t need so much phosphorous but yet you offer products LOADED DOWN WITH PHOSPHOROUS.

Phosphorous is a main base in DNA. Your levels of phosphorous are absolutely unrealistic. Try the same test with truly DRY material so you don’t have water skewing your results. Any real scientist with any Chromatography experience knows that.

    Hi,

thanks for the great quality of your blog, each time i come here, i’m amazed.

    black hattitude.

  28. Clear it up please January 15, 2010 at 4:54 am #

To accept a test like this, we need to know how it was done.

As far as I understand, leafs were sent in the lab.

-what part of the plant were they taken?
    -how many of them?
-under what conditions were the plants cultivated?
-were any other parts of the plant tested (stem, flower, roots, buds…)

  29. Brian March 11, 2010 at 5:39 pm #

WOW! You just gave away the secret recipe! Very unselfish of you. This is an important key to the sucess of farming THOSE tomatoes :-). Keep up the great work Big Mike.

  30. G spot March 12, 2010 at 2:21 pm #

God damn. i just spent a butt ton of money on the fox farm bloom trio nutrient pak (open sesame, beastie blooms, and cha ching) all with a over 45% phosphorous rating. well now i know i should of gone with advanced nutrients. fml

  31. Scott Abramson March 21, 2010 at 7:49 pm #

Wow! You really came clean with the gas-chromatography. I have been waiting for that for years! I appreciate you coming clean with all this information. It helps me justify spending all that extra money on your products when I KNOW why. You are so far ahead, THERE IS NO COMPETITION. Your philosophy of honesty and keeping with the best ingredients no matter the cost has me sold. Keep it up. You have another loyal customer.

Way to go BigMike, throwing out the junk and replacing with Advanced Nuit’s! My plants are already telling me how much better they like them!

I prefer unbranded food/technical grade compounds to anything with a brand on it. I really dislike attempts to get higher volumes and margins from pretty pictures. The only valid way to increase profits is by increasing productivity and quality.
