Your Most Important Day as a Grower

medical marijuana badgeAs a grower, it’s easy to get caught up in living for the harvest—living for the days when your crop is ready and you can enjoy the fruits of your labor.

While I do think you should keep the end goal in mind of harvesting the biggest, fattest, most sugary-coated potent buds possible, if you live for the harvest, you’re in the same position as the masses who live for the weekends.

Now I know this sounds obvious, but you’d be amazed at how many growers live this way.

It’s part of the human condition, striving for tomorrow while missing out on today—the only day we have.

When you live like this, not only are your plants not getting the attention they deserve, but your LIFE isn’t getting the attention it deserves either.

The key is to walk the line of having clear goals for yourself and your garden while diving headfirst into the steps you’re taking today to reach those goals. Otherwise you’ll end up rushing the entire process and paying for it with a crop that falls short of what it could be, a life that’s unfulfilling, and an entire journey that seems more like a means to an end instead of the labor of love it should be.

A giant marijuana bud with glasses and cigarNow, the growers I know who LOVE what they do—the ones who love stopping to smell the flowers, who love giving everything of themselves to grow the absolute best buds possible, and who know that the steps they take today are the only ones that matter—those are the growers who are successful both in and out of the garden.

Bringing passion and focus into your work is what yields the best results, the best buds, and the best life—by FAR.

As you probably know, I’ve been growing for over 31 years now and have been helping growers like you enjoy the biggest, baddest, tastiest buds possible for nearly as long.

And while I’m an extremely goal-oriented person, I’ve made a discipline of putting 100% of my attention into what I can do today and ONLY today.

Doing this allows me to avoid a lot of the stress that comes with running a $90 million company.

It keeps me out of regret for the mistakes I made yesterday…and trust me, I’ve made a ton of mistakes. But I look at these mistakes as growing experiences (no pun intended) that allow me to be the number one grower and business owner I can be today, and they enable me to be of maximum service to you today—so you can be the number one grower that you can be today as well.

A man in bud costume Now, fortunately I love working with growers like you…I just LOVE discovering new ways to help you become the best at what you do.

I love hearing about your giant harvests, about how much Advanced Nutrients is helping you take your growing to the next level, and about all the pats on the back your friends are giving you when they’re partaking in the tasty fruits of your labor.

I can’t even begin to describe the smile on my face all this gives me.

But I know none of this would be possible if I was constantly in a rush to get to the next thing. It only comes by giving my all to what I’m working on RIGHT NOW.

And since today is all we have, we might as well live in the here and now, give the step in front of us everything we’ve got, and enjoy the ride—and, oh, what a ride it is!

Our lives and our harvests will thank us for it.

Talk soon,
BigMike 🙂

Living in the past and/or future is NOT part of the human condition. It has been conditioned upon humans to live for every other day EXCEPT today.

Wise Words.. I wonder about those who possess NO passion for the plant. Only a greed for the outcome… Lousy energy.

It’s so true that the secret to success in the grow room is a love of growing. In your next post though, I’d love to be given some actual examples of what we can do in the grow room to increase our yields and final quality. Maybe make a short list of 5 things growers can do to take extra care (which actually make a difference)? Thanks for the motivational blog post!

Thanks Mike it’s nice to know that there are growers that still have a passion for growing. Like yourself I have been at this for decades. I grow in a hybrid hydroponic system. Advanced Nutrients helps me to maximize each plant’s potential regardless of it needs.

    Thanks for giving me hope.

    I couldn’t agree more Mike!

I’m a stage 4 bladder cancer survivor 3-1/2 years now. Was given 4-8 months to live. Today and this very moment, is all we truly do have. Everything else is subject to change! Peace to you Mike.

    Hey Mike,
Thanks for all your hard work. Can you tell me your top three daytime strains for indoor growing. By daytime I mean to use thru the day and will keep you happy upbeat and feeling no pain?

Great advice Mike. I talk to so many customers that are worried about there harvest before they even start. I try and tell all of my customers to enjoy what they are doing, take things one step at a time and focus on what they are doing today. If you take care of your plants today they will reward you tomorrow and at harvest time.

    Keep up the great work.

I read all your stuff and just started my first garden in my bathroom. I’m following your outline the best I can. I might have made an mistake by having a friend talk ne in to letting him do seeds for me instead of clones.

My plan was to do 8 plants but now I have 16 and I will need to determine there sex down the line.

I’m using the Sunshine advance mix for soil and the three (Micro, grow, bloom)for nutrients also I use osmosis water.

Well I’m on my way and it has been 4 days now and all looks good.

Thank you Big Mike for giving me the confidents to do this with your help.

Great article again mike, for the folks that want things that improve indoor hydro gardens…. that is obviously CO2.s a

You must have special parameters to maximize use of CO2, but the results are absolutely amazing when done properly.

Keep up the good work brother!
